Dorset's Hidden Gem
THE MAGIC OF MUDEFORD captivates people of all ages. We know because it keeps bringing guests back to SeaBreeze and to the Sandhills Holiday Park
CHILDREN enjoy Mudeford’s sandy beaches, and fishing for crabs along the harbour wall.
ADULTS can sample a variety of watersports at SHORESPORTS near the SAILING CLUB and the LIFEBOAT STATION, The local passenger FERRY will take you from MUDEFORD QUAY across the harbour to the beautiful sand dunes of MUDEFORD SANDSPIT, with its beach homes that cost an ever increasing fortune.
AFTER PASSING the Beach House Cafe you can take the LAND TRAIN along the estuary to the summit of HENGISTBURY HEAD, and explore the visitor centre.
FOR THE MORE ACTIVE there is a cliff path through the NATURE RESERVE up to the VIEW POINT, which reveals the PANORAMA of the surrounding coastline.
IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, a leisurely walk along the seafront and through another nature reserve takes you to HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE, where food is available. On the way you will pass the Beach Hut Cafe, which serves delicious light meals and snacks.
Even closer to SEABREEZE you can enjoy a meal at the popular Noisy Lobster, which also serves take-away meals from The Lobster Hatch.
ALL THIS IS POSSIBLE WITHOUT USING YOUR CAR
AT THE END OF YOUR DAY you might enjoy a drink at the HAVEN INN and reflect on it's rich history.
There are tales of SMUGGLERS who favoured this HARBOUR because of its narrow entrance and fast flowing tides, which only local SAILORS could negotiate.
